How often should your dog be groomed?

Every 6 weeks is typical, and anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months is common.

For many dogs, a bath and trim every four to eight weeks is typical, depending on the coat. Nails and ears often need attention every three to four weeks. Cats mostly need brushing at home, with a groomer when mats need care.

People often come sooner with

  • Coats that keep growing, like poodles and doodles
  • Shedding seasons in spring and fall
  • Long coats that mat

And later with

  • Short, smooth coats
  • Regular brushing at home

Ask your groomer
